On My Heart Today

I am at a time in my life where everything is pretty inconsistent. Every week is different, my work schedule is never the same, my homework load is never the same. Because of this going to church is often pushed to the side. I already have to ask for so much time off because of school that Sunday is a day I have to leave open for them to schedule me whenever they need to. I miss going to church every Sunday, I miss the consistency of it in my life. This morning I happened to not be scheduled so I was able to go with my mom!

My pastor spoke today, ironically, about how important it is that we show our faith through our jobs, whatever they may be.

Colossians 3.22-24
Slaves, obey you earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

I love my job very much but it is a "for now" job so it is hard for me to give it my all. I have never viewed my job as a way to show my faith, or to serve God. I realize now what an impact I can have by simply changing my attitude at work.

It is important yet very easy for me to forget, that God cares about every part of our lives and wants us to do everything for Him.

"No matter what the job may be...Your work matters to God"

I hope you are having a very HAPPY Sunday!

  4. I have been there! It's a crazy roller coaster ride, but I learned so much through that time. I remember when I was a teen, someone said to me, "When you do anything, always pretend Jesus is right there in the room with you, and you'll do everything the best you can." And to this day I am always paranoid I'm being watched....hahaha
