Highs and Lows

Here are my highs and lows of the week! Apparently this was started on the blog Life Crafts & Whatever but I found it on Shaydes of Life a childhood friend who has a great blog! : )

My Highs...

1. Going to the beach with Travis yesterday

2. Doing Crafts with Sammie and watching Overboard...I will put pictures of what I made soon.

3. Working on being more diligent about reading before bed and I would say I was 60% successful this week, better than last week! I am currently reading Bittersweet by Shauna Niequist.

4. Having dinner with my wonderful grandma for her birthday : )

Lows...

1. Homework, this will probably be my low for the next year so get used to it.

2. It rained on Wednesday when my mom and I wanted to lay by the neighbors pool, it was a bummer!

3. I did get to lay by the pool one day because it was nice and I got REALLY burnt so that was not so great.

Thats all for today! Hope everyone had a GREAT weekend!

Spent the day at the beach yesterday with this good looking man, it was pure bliss. We read, took naps, ate food, swam, and just relaxed! We went to a beach in Muskegon that is semi private so there were not a million people around, all I heard while laying down was the water coming up to the shore, it was perfect. After a week of a lot of homework and work the beach with Travis was exactly what I needed : )

not goodbye just seeya later

In a week and a half I will be saying see you later to one of my best friends in the whole entire world. Audrey and her husband are moving to Iowa for Nick to go to law school. I am so incredibly excited for them and this adventure they are about to go on!

But for me selfishly it really sucks.

I have never been on this side before. I have been the one to move and
now its my turn to have a friend move from me. It is completely a different feeling for me this time then when it was me going away.

Audrey and I have known each other our whole lives. We lived in the same Duplex's when we were babies, went to the same church forever, and we went to the same junior high school. For a while life took us in different directions but now without a doubt we will always be (as junior high as this sounds) best friends forever. Even through life when we didn't see each other very often we always managed to come back together and it was as if nothing had changed. Audrey and her 3 sisters are my sisters and they will always be. I am so thankful that the Lord blessed me with each of them.

Audrey and I share a lot in common, people often ask us if we are sisters, even our families have at times not been able to tell us apart. Our hair colors have a tendency to always morph to be the same. So usually from the back we look very very similar. I remember one time while sleeping over at the Hollsteins someone woke me up really early saying "Audrey, Audrey its time to get up" but once I turned over they realized their mistake : ) It was also their mistake because it was way before 10 am and we all know I am not that much fun before 10 : )

Anyways Audrey and I have been through A LOT of life together! We have cried together, laughed until we have tears in our eyes, eaten a lot of cheese, looked through vogue magazines, given each other honest opinions when trying on clothes, seen more movies together than I can count, scrapbooked till all hours of the night, told each other when a boyfriend is straight stupid, shared thousands of clothes, talked and talked and talked, gave honest advice, painted our nails, and without a doubt we have always been (and will always be) there fore each other no matter what!

Here are some pictures that define us...

Audrey is my personal hair stylist cutting and coloring. We spent a lot of evenings dying each others hair throughout high school.

We dress up, dance around like freaks, sing really loud, and have photo shoots and we don't care who knows

We love to plan parties : ) This was Stacy's wedding shower we did

We are obsessed with the color green

We love anything disney including going to Miley Cyrus concerts and screaming like we were 16 and loving every minute of it. And without a doubt we bought ridiculously expensive t-shirts! It wouldn't have been the same without them

All the Hollstein girls came to visit me while I lived in New Jersey so of course we went shopping in New York City! Shopping is something that Audrey and I do well, possibly at a professional/problematic (depends on how you look at it) level : )

Target is to say the least an obsession of ours. Its really better if we stay away from it but we like it better if we go frequently, Target has anything you could possibly need.

Audrey Ann I love you so much and am so thankful to have you in my life! We have SOOO many memories together and I cant wait to make a million more! I look forward to road trips to Iowa, meeting in Chicago for a little (or a lot of) shopping, skype, talking on the phone, and continuing to lean on each other anywhere life takes us. I am going to miss you more than I can begin to say!!

I am so excited for you and Nick!

Us

I love us.
I love that we laugh together.
I love that he humors me, usually : ), in taking pictures in every moment.
I love that my day gets better always when I see him, even if I wasn't having a bad day.
I love that he always tries to make me smile when I am grumpy.
I love that he loves me even when I am grumpy : )
I love that we trust each other.
I love that he holds my hand and opens doors for me.
I love how safe he makes me feel.
I love his kindness to everyone even if they are not always kind to him.
I love that he will be with me forever.
I love him.
Very much.
This is us : ) ...

I love that he is home.
